Semple to direct new Greenville location of Two Oceans Digital – Greenville Daily Reflector

Cooke Communications announced that it has opened a new location for its digital marketing agency, Two Oceans Digital, in Greenville.

Based in Key West, Fla., Two Oceans Digital — also known as floridakeys.com — has been offering the latest in digital marketing to customers in Florida since 1994.

Greenville native Elizabeth Semple will lead Two Oceans Digital’s Greenville operations as director of digital services.

Among its varied digital marketing services, Two Oceans Digital will provide website development, search engine marketing, search engine optimization, social media management, and digital ad remarketing to regional customers.

In addition to keywest.com and floridakeys.com, the company has been producing fla-keys.com, the official website for the Florida Keys Tourism Development Council, since 1995. The company has won Visit Florida’s prestigious Flagler Award for its website design numerous times.

“We are very pleased to bring highly esteemed Two Oceans to eastern North Carolina,” John K. Cooke Jr., president of Cooke Communications-North Carolina and publisher of The Daily Reflector, said. “To have Two Oceans’ expertise available locally is a natural fit for our customers in North Carolina. We currently offer a wide array of marketing solutions from newspapers to magazines plus our online news sites. Our new portfolio of digital marketing services makes us a one-stop-shop for many businesses in the region.”

Tim Holt, general manager for Cooke Communications-North Carolina, said the timing was right to launch Two Oceans in Greenville.

“We knew digital marketing was something we could do well, given our partnership with Two Oceans Digital in Florida,” Holt said. “It was a matter of timing and finding the right person to head up our efforts here in Greenville.

“Elizabeth Semple brings the perfect mix of local knowledge and digital experience that we were looking for in our director of digital services. It’s clear; people like doing business with people they know and trust. People know us and have trusted us for years, and they know and trust Elizabeth.”

Semple attended college at Meredith and graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill. She began her career in 1991 in sales and management with Cox Enterprises in Atlanta, then returned to Greenville in 2001 to join The Daily Reflector.

In 2010, Semple, then the director of advertising and marketing, left The Daily Reflector to launch her own marketing and public relations firm focused heavily on digital services.

“It feels great to have come full circle in a way,” Semple said. “Marketing has been at the center of my entire career, and as the tools and channels change, so has my experience. I look forward to being able to offer the latest services with the resources Two Oceans Digital and Cooke Communications provide. It’s truly the best of both worlds — years of certified experience combined with a deep sense of community and history in this region I call home.”

Cooke Communications is comprised of Two Oceans Digital, as well as several Florida Keys-based newspapers, magazines and websites and, as of 2009, Cooke Communications NC LLC, which consists of The Daily Reflector, The Rocky Mount Telegram, The Daily Advance in Elizabeth City and accompanying websites, nine weekly newspapers and several magazines covering all of eastern North Carolina.
