There’s no better gift for Mom. Really.

Nixplay

Mother’s Day is May 14, meaning you’ve got just over two weeks to find a wonderful gift for Mom.

I got you.

For a limited time (and I’m quite certain supplies will last, because this comes direct from the company), Nixplay is offering 30 percent off a single 7- or 8-inch Seed digital photo frame when you apply promo code CNETS30 at checkout. That translates to a price of $70 or $91, with free shipping on both.

You can also get 25 percent off the 10-inch model — so $127.50 — with promo code CNETS25. My advice: Splurge on Mom and get the big one.

(As you’ll note when you get to the site, Nixplay is actually touting “up to 40 percent off” its frames, but that’s when you purchase three or more.)

How to frame your mom (in a good way)

Here’s the thing: She probably has a zillion photos on her phone, right? And countless more tucked away in albums and scrapbooks? A digital photo frame puts any and all photos on display in a perpetual slideshow, bringing back wonderful memories every time you glance at it — or sit and watch it for a few minutes, which is a regular occurrence in my house.

(Want to amp up this gift? Digitize a bunch of Mom’s favorite printed photos and add them to the frame. Here are four ways to scan old photos.)

The Seed is available in your choice of black, blue, mango or mulberry. Unlike the digital frames of yesteryear, this one is fully connected. It taps into your home Wi-Fi network to slurp up photos from Facebook, Flickr, Instagram, Dropbox and other online sources.

It also has its own email address that friends and family members can use to send new photos. A companion app (for Android and iOS) lets you upload directly from your phone or tablet.

In other words, gone are the old hassles of adding new pictures. The Seed is also noteworthy for working in either landscape or portrait orientation. A power-saving option activates the screen when there’s motion in the room and deactivates it when there’s not. And the power card ingeniously doubles as the frame’s stand, allowing for just about any viewing angle.

I’m a big fan of these. And sales are rare. You handle the setup so Mom doesn’t have to, and I guarantee she’ll prize this present for years to come.

Bonus deal: Need a dirt-cheap web hosting solution for your new business, project or the like? For a limited time, Webhostface is offering 90 percent off its one-year hosting plans. That means you can get a year of the Face Extra plan for just $13.08 (assuming you remove Premium Support from your cart; it adds $2/month), or a Standard plan for only $8.28. You can also add the Weebly site builder at no extra charge; it’s a solid (but basic) tool for creating sites (like this one, ahem).

Hey, why not follow me on Twitter if you like deals like these? I sometimes share even more bonus deals during the day (and on weekends).
