Let your talent shine in the ABC Discovers: Digital Talent Competition! – KABC-TV

Are you a star just waiting to be discovered? Now’s the time to let your talent shine! ABC is searching for actors to receive mentorship and acting opportunities in the third annual ABC Discovers: Digital Talent Competition.

“My team and I are always in the process of discovering and championing new talent, and this competition gives an opportunity to find actors who may not have had the chance to be seen yet by a team of professional casting executives,” Keli Lee, Executive Vice President Casting and Talent, ABC Entertainment said.

One of last year’s winners, Cornelius Smith Jr., went on to have a role on Scandal, playing Washington D.C. activist Marcus Walker.

Winners from the ABC Discovers: Digital Talent Competition go on to participate in ABC’s Talent Showcase, which has served as a launching pad for such talented actors as Academy-Award winning actress Lupita Nyong’o of 12 Years a Slave, Gina Rodriguez from Jane The Virgin, Chadwick Boseman of Black Panther and 42, Randall Park of Fresh Off The Boat, Jesse Williams, of Grey’s Anatomy, and Dancing with the Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba.

Actors age 18 and older are encouraged to create a video showing themselves performing comedy or drama scenes and post it on ABCDiscovers.com. Actors will be judged on quality of performance, potential star power and technical skill set. The winner will receive a one-year $25,000 talent deal with ABC and a spot in the New York or Los Angeles 2015 ABC Discovers: Talent Showcase. A winner will be announced Monday, July 20.
