APPLE could be about to bring out a laptop that is powered by your iPhone, according to official documents.
The tech company has filed a patent for a Macbook-style device, which has a slot for an iPhone instead of a touchpad.
The patent suggests that the iPhone would power the laptop, which acts as a projector for everything on the smartphone screen.
Designs reveal how iPads could also be clipped in where the screen typically sits.
The “shell” laptops aren’t just storage spots for your Apple devices, however.
They will come packed with computing power.
Although most of the processing will be run by the iPhone or iPad, owners can also tether their data too.
This means they could transfer phone data so they can use internet on the device when there’s not WiFi available.
It could be useful for commuters hoping to get a bit of work done on their train journey home, or in schools.
The patent, titled “Electronic accessory device”, was first spotted by Apple Insider.
